nutrtionist

Shawna Kunselman, MS, CNS, LDN is a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN)(FL.) She holds a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Additionally, she has been trained as a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (Nutrition) and Licensed Massage Therapist.

Shawna began her passion for wellness as a Licensed Massage Therapist. She grew interested in functional medicine while searching for the root causes and therapies for her son’s autism symptoms. He suffered from many comorbid conditions such as chronic digestive health issues, autoimmune tendencies, food allergies, anxiety, and mood swings. Through an integrative and functional medicine approach, healing began and his digestive issues, anxiety, and mood swings resolved and he was able to focus more in his therapies. He began talking, communicating and socializing more. There was such great improvement in Shawna’s son’s health that she became inspired to educate others on the importance of nutritional and functional healing. Visit Shawna’s page Wellness-Speaks to learn more about a functional medicine approach to autism and ADHD.

Additionally, Shawna has healed her own hypothyroid condition through a functional medicine and nutrition approach.

Shawna is also an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for John Patrick University Integrative & Functional Medicine Program, teaching Clinical Healthcare Nutrition and Nutrition for Oncology.
